Councillor Derek Mackay has welcomed the success of Renfrewshire Council in winning 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals at this years CoSLA Awards - the local government equivalent of the Oscars!


The awards recognise excellence among all 32 local authorities in Scotland - with Renfrewshire winning 3 out of the 7 categories - it's best ever performance.Cllr Derek Mackay

Cllr Derek Mackay said:

"This is excellent news for staff and residents in Renfrewshire. The CoSLA Awards are about recognising public service and public servants.  Our aim at Renfrewshire Council is to consistently provide high quality services and it's gratifying that our efforts are bein recognised on the national stage."

"When so much media attention is on the bad news in local government, with councils having to deal with cuts from Westminster - it is good to highlight some of the postives from local government in Renfrewshire."

Category 6: Securing a Workforce for the Future - GOLD WINNER - Customer Service Professional

Category 4: Promoting Sustainability - SILVER WINNER -Service Re-routing for Improved Recycling

Category 5: Excellence in Adversity - SILVER WINNER -Joint Internet Safety TV Advertising Campaign

Category 7: One to Watch - SILVER WINNER - Renfrewshire Schools Dragons' Den.
