Deaf Awareness Week is an annual event which takes place this year between the 6th May - 12th May, it is the opportunity to recognise the work of organisations working on behalf of, and with, deaf people in Scotland.

Scotland will retain the pound, and Scottish banknotes – underpinned by the 2009 Banking Act – will remain in place within a post-independence currency union in Scotland.

International Workers' Memorial Day takes place annually around the world on April 28th.  This is an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work.  Derek Mackay MSP for Renfrewshire North and West takes time to remember these workers each year.

Proposed improvements to Scotland’s planning system announced by Renfrewshire North & West MSP Derek Mackay, as Scottish Government Planning Minister will ensure that even more emphasis is placed on using the planning system to secure jobs and economic growth.
